After finishing his PG in 2007, Dr Velayudam started his stint at National Institute of Siddha, Tambaram as a Medical Officer. He later went on to become Clinical Teacher and then as a Deputy Medical Superintendent. He held on to the position till 2011. Dr Velayudam then went on to become an Associate Professor (Reader) in the famous Sivaraj Siddha Medical College, Salem in 2012.

Dr. Velayudam also held the post of Vice-President at IMPCOPS (The Indian Medical Practitioners’ Co-operative Pharmacy & Stores Ltd) till 2015. His stint at various institutions and entities are summarized below
